>>so he’s saying to not forget the truth. don’t harm someone else because of selfish reasons. a like up is a group of closely-looking people standing in a line so someone can identify the criminal. him trying hard to be strong and rolling over is him trying to deal with things and ending up succumbing to it and not taking a stand. him saying try guitar out is him referencing him trying to change. quoting scripture was literally him quoting scripture in Nintendo blood.

>>he waits for the right time to stand up and make a change but he’s constantly telling himself it’s not the right time yet. every night he has a better grasp of what’s going on and he is getting closer to change.

>>his ego is out of hand because he has this big idea that he (a single drop of water in a bucket) can actually change something.

>>a flame going out represents hope. when someone is described as having “fire” they are very ambitious and hopeful. by watching the flames go out, it means everyone is learning to be helpless and accepting tht they can’t change anything.

>>he’s arguing with himself saying soon he will change something. but his ego is taking control saying “no, now.”

>>the “I’ve” could represent the big business leaders who are oppressive and make decisions only for personal gain. they take away everyone’s natural instinct to live.

“That is what a loving–selfish, loving human does”
>>people justifying the tyrannical rule of oppressive people saying that they do it out of love.

“That is what it sounds like to an insect”
>>this is Jules saying that only insects (people who can be manipulated and squished easily) would try to justify what these leaders are doing.

>>a trial referencing the opening lines of the wrong guy in the line up. he’s been accused and is now on trial for a crime he didn’t commit and julian is sitting with him helping him (because Julian is a nice person and that’s just what he does. Jules knows right from wrong)

>>he doesn’t want to hear the shit coming out of these peoples mouths because he knows it’s all lies.

>>everyone is protesting against cruel leaders and Julian wants all of it to stop. he doesn’t want cruel leaders and he doesn’t want anarchy either. these pitchforks and fires in peoples hands are basically representing the peoples craving for anarchism. he just wants everything to be how it used to be and make capitalism work and have the government actually care for it’s people.

>>he realizes that he can’t change anything

>>he hears everything that’s going on but can’t articulate anything he wants to say. he wants to speak his mind but can’t.

>>he realizes that his craving to change everything and make everything better is ridiculous and can’t be achieved.

>>abstract way of saying “can I have this?” and someone in business replying “no.. this is for entertainment purposes only.”. it’s hard to explain what this means but I get it.

>>he said in multiple interviews how he hates that people in china are making kids work 14 hours a day. so he’s paralleling it here, saying basically that adults are lazy and cruel so they pin all the hard work on people who can’t stand up for themselves.

>>he is unsure of whether or not he can make a change
